On October 6, 2026, WDFW postponed all coastal razor clam digs until further notice because of elevated domoic acid levels. The tentative dates below only go ahead once the Department of Health confirms clams are safe. Always check WDFW's razor clam page before you dig.

About This Event

Razor clam digging is one of the Washington coast's favorite traditions: it's family-friendly, easy to learn, and the beaches are just down the bluff from Seabrook. Dress for wet, muddy conditions (rubber boots or waders and a rain jacket) and bring a clam shovel or clam gun. Basecamp on Front and Market Street sells shellfish licenses and gear, including clam guns, shovels, wet gear, and bags, and has a clam-cleaning station. The daily limit is 15 clams per licensed digger, and the best time to dig is one to two hours before low tide. Back at your rental, a full kitchen makes clam chowder or fried clams the perfect end to the day.

Everything in Seabrook is walkable, so stay in town and skip the parking. After the festivities, head home to a private hot tub, an electric fireplace, and a fenced yard for the dog.
